HC Deb 08 December 1978 vol 959 cc143-4W
Mr. George Robertson

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how much his Department has spent in the last 12 months on the anti-litter campaign in (a) the national press, (b) the provincial press, (c) television, (d) radio and (e) elsewhere.

Mr. Marks:

The Government gave a grant of £250,000 in 1978–79 to the Keep Britain Tidy Group which campaigns vigorously against litter on many fronts in collaboration with local authorities, voluntary groups and industry. Advertising plays an important though not exclusive role in this campaign.
