Mr. Silvester

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what was the total number of houses completed and the total number of improvement grants made for each of the periods July 1945 to October 1951, November 1951 to September 1964, October 1964 to May 1970, June 1970 to February 1974, and March 1974 to the latest date for which figures are available.

Mr. Anthony Grant

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what was the number of private houses and council houses, respectively, built in the London area per annum from 1973 to the latest convenient date in 1978.

In the first quarter of 1978, 6,679 dwellings were reported as completed in the Greater London area: 4,739 in the public sector and 1,940 for private owners. Corresponding figures for the years 1973 to 1977 appear in "Local Housing Statistics England and Wales" issues 29, 33, 37, 41 and 45 copies of which are available in the Library.

Mr. MacGregor

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list the number of new houses built in Norfolk, divided between the public and private sectors, for the years from 1st April 1974 to 1st April 1975, 1st April 1975 to 1st April 1976, 1st April 1976 to 1st April 1977, and 1st April 1977 to 1st April 1978.

In the first quarter of 1978, 1,007 dwellings were reported as completed in the county of Norfolk; 375 for the public sector and 632 for private owners. Corresponding figures for earlier periods appear in "Local Housing Statistics England and Wales" issues 33 to 45 copies of which are available in the Library.

Mr. Hayhoe

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many housing units have been completed during each of the last eight years by the private and public sectors in Greater London, the London borough of Hounslow and the Brentford and Isleworth constituencies.

Figures of new dwellings completed for each of the years 1970 to 1977 in Greater London and the London Borough of Hounslow appear in "Local Housing Statistics England and Wales" issues 17, 21, 25, 29, 33, 37, 41 and 45 copies of which are available in the Library. Figures for the Brentford and Isleworth constituency are not available.
