§ Mr. Robert Cookeasked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he expects to be able to exhibit further details of the proposed new Government Conference Centre in Parliament Square.
§ Mr. Marks, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 2nd August 1978], gave the following information:
The Property Services Agency will be consulting Westminster Council very soon under the normal arrangements for planning clearance of Crown developments. The application will be advertised in the press and on the site and I am making arrangements for the designs to be available for inspection by the public. I will also make copies available for hon. Members to see in the Library of the House.
§ Mr. Robert Cookeasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what plans he has for the remainder of the site in Parliament Square upon which it is proposed to build a new Government Conference Centre.
§ Mr. Marks, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 2nd August 1978], gave the following information:
The International Conference Centre will be set back on the site to create and face a suitably landscaped new Broad Sanctuary square bounded on three sides by the Middlesex Guildhall, the new conference centre, Westminster Abbey, Sanctuary Buildings and Central Hall.
