Members over the same period of time as mentioned in his original reply.
§ Mr. Charles R. MorrisThe Prime Minister announced the Government's decision on the Tenth Report of the Review Body on Top Salaries on 4th July.—[Vol. 953, c. 97.] In the light of this statement, the following salaries will be paid from 1st January 1978:
Post Chairman, British Steel Corporation £31,390 Lord Chief Justice £25,584 Head of the Home Civil Service £22,422 Permanent Secretary to the Treasury Secretary to the Cabinet Admiral of the Fleet £21,871 Field Marshal Marshal of the Royal Air Force The recommended figures were, respectively, £45,000, £34,000, £28,000 and £28,000, which will be implemented in stages on 1st April 1979 and 1st April 1980.

- 1st January 1972, £4,500.
- 13th June 1975, £5,570 (£8,000 for pension purposes).
- 13th June 1976, £6,062 (£8,000 for pension purposes).
- 13th June 1977, £6,270 (£8,208 for pension purposes).
- 13th June 1978, £6,897 (£9,372 for pension purposes).
