asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will ensure that the attempt lo cut down overtime for members of the Royal Ulster Constabulary will not hinder the traffic branch in their work to keep death off the roads in Ulster.

, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 31st July 1978], gave the following information:

Members of the RUC Traffic Division, in common with the rest of the force, work overtime at the direction of senior officers and in accordance with operational need.
