HC Deb 01 August 1978 vol 955 cc233-4W
Mr. Faulds

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether any of the national museums for which she is responsible will assist in housing and conserving the unique collection of reproducing pianos and other musical instruments held at the British Piano Museum.

Mr. Oakes

The British Piano Museum is a private institution. Government funds are made available for assistance to such museums through the area museum councils, to which applications should be addressed. If the collection, or items from it, were to be offered to a national museum I have no doubt that the offer would be carefully considered in the light of available space, staff and finance.
