§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, in view of the fact that Associated Fisheries has declared a £1,300,000 six-monthly loss compared with a £1,465,000 profit in 1977 due in part to Common Market rulings, and failure to adopt a common fisheries policy, what action he proposes to take to change this situation.
§ Mr. BishopThe Government have consistently endeavoured to persuade the rest of the Community to adopt a common fisheries policy taking account of the changed circumstances following the general adoption of wider fishery limits, and of the essential needs of the British fishing industry. They will continue their efforts.
