HC Deb 26 April 1978 vol 948 c607W
Mr. Thompson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many special units for the terminal care of patients within the National Health Service there are in Scotland; and where these units are situated.

Mr. Harry Ewing

There are two such special units in Scotland: at Roxburgh House, Tor-na-Dee Hospital, Aberdeen, and at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Dundee.

Mr. Thompson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland which health boards have contractual arrangements with voluntary organisations active in the provision of hospices for the terminal care of patients.

Mr. Harry Ewing

The Greater Glasgow Health Board has contractual arrangements with Strathclyde House, Glasgow; and the Lothian Health Board has similar arrangements with the Fair-mile Nursing Home, Edinburgh.
