HC Deb 24 April 1978 vol 948 cc467-8W
Mr. Farr

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs in the case of those certificates and licences for the issue of which he has responsibility, whether the fees for issue have been increased by a greater amount or a greater percentage than that represented by a rise from £2.50 in 1973 to £13 in 1978.

Mr. Luard

My right hon. Friend's Department is not responsible for the issue of any licences. Consular officers overseas issue various certificates for which a fee is charged. One of these fees relating to a certificate of registry of a ship has been increased from £10.50 in 1973 to £29.00 in 1978. No other fee has been increased since 1973 by a greater amount or percentage than that specified by the hon. Member.
