§ Mr. Greville Jannerasked the Secretary of State for Employment (1) how many applicants to industrial tribunals brought claims in 1978 arising out of the employer's failure to provide adequate written reasons for dismissal; how many and what percentage of such claims were successful; and what was the average sum awarded to successful claimants; (2) what was the average 548W award made to successful claimants for unfair dismissal remedies during the first three months of 1978; and how many and what percentage of such claimants were awarded less than £100, between £101 and £250, £251 and £500, £501 and £1,000, £1,001 and £2,500, £2,501 and £5,000, £5,001 and £7,500, £7,501 and £10,000 and over £10,000: (3) how many and what percentage of unfair dismissal claims heard by industrial tribunals were successful during the first three months of 1978; and how these figures compare with those for the first three months of 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976 and 1977, respectively.
