HC Deb 13 April 1978 vol 947 c494W
Mr. Kilroy-Silk

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what reply he has received from the West Lancaster District Council about its failure to levy charges for the collection of trade waste.

Mr. Marks

The reply indicates that charges have now been imposed. I shall be writing to my hon. Friend.

Mr. Kilroy-Silk

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many local authorities have failed to charge for the collection of trade waste under the Public Health Act 1936; and what action he is taking to enforce the law.

Mr. Marks

On present information eight of the 365 collection authorities do not appear to charge. This Department is making further inquiries.
