Deportees were returned under escort to the following countries during 1977: Egypt, Finland, Germany (Federal Republic), Ghana, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Iraq, Italy, Ivory Coast, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Turkey and the United States of America. An escort is provided if the deportee is considered to be medically or mentally unfit to travel alone, or if he has previously shown aggressive tendencies.
