HC Deb 07 April 1978 vol 947 c242W
Mr. Maxwell-Hyslop

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what other sub-regional security units are planned in the South-West Region apart from that which is to be the subject of a public inquiry at Langdon near Dawlish in Devon; when each of these other sub-regional units is intended to be in operation; and what the catchment area for each is supposed to be.

Mr. Moyle

The South-Western Regional Health Authority plans to provide two units; the one at Langdon to serve the southern part of the region—Cornwall, Devon and part of Somerset—and one within the Avon Health Area to serve the northern part of the region—Gloucestershire, Avon and part of Somerset. The precise location and date of opening of the latter unit have yet to be determined.
