§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether it is possible for a former immigrant now settled in Great Britain to claim adoption of children from his home country and to arrange for them to be allowed entry into Great Britain and what check is made to ascertain that these are proper adoptions and not a subterfuge to obtain entry for children who would otherwise not be admitted into Great Britain.
§ Mr. Merlyn ReesI would refer my hon. Friend to the reply my hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State gave to a Question by him on 8th March—[Vol. 945, c. 651]—She has also written to my hon. Friend on this subject.
