HC Deb 06 April 1978 vol 947 cc210-1W
Mr. Warren

asked the Secretary of State for Industry how many proposals put before requirement boards in the last 12 months have been rejected because of inadequate market information to assess the value of the proposal before the boards.

Mr. Les Huckfield

Market prospects are usually mentioned by the board secretariat in preliminary discussions with an organisation to ensure that the proposal goes forward with such information. Over the last 12 months no proposal has been rejected because of inadequate market information; however, in several cases only short-term approval has been given to enable the organisation to improve the information supporting the proposal.
