§ Mr. Fauldsasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he will suspend the Anglo-Soviet 207W cultural agreement in view of the Soviet Government's treatment of the cellist Mstislav Rostropovich.
§ Mr. LuardNo. The Soviet Government are fully aware of our views about their treatment of artists and others such as Mr Rostropovich, but we continue to believe that the Anglo-Soviet cultural agreement, which increases the contacts between Britain and the Soviet Union, helps the cause of artists in both countries.
