HC Deb 04 April 1978 vol 947 cc105-6W
Mr. Greville Janner

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the current state of relations between Great Britain and the Socialist Republic of Romania.

Mr. Luard

Our relations with Romania are good. The then Romanian Foreign Minister, Mr. George Macovescu, paid a visit to London in November last year, and my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Trade visited Romania from 1st to 3rd March. The latter visit in particular demonstrated the excellent prospects that now exist for expanding our commercial relations with Romania. President Ceausescu will be making a State Visit to Britain from 13th to 16th June.
