§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how the immigration authorities are able to enforce repatriation of alien and other persons granted temporary entrance into Great Britain on completion of their periods of stay when no details of the names of immigrants are kept and no possibility of checking on their temporary place of residence exists.
§ Mr. Merlyn ReesAlthough we do not count the numbers of persons of any particular name who have been given leave to enter the United Kingdom, each person so admitted has to record on a card which he completes on entry his name, nationality, date and place of birth, and occupation, and the address to which he is going. Other information about his address may also be available when a check on his embarkation is made.
