§ Mr. Kilfedderasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many registered licensed clubs existed in 1969 and how many existed at the latest calculation; and if he is satisfied with the examination of accounts relating to clubs submitted under Section 21 of the Clubs Act 1967; and what was the gross profit of these clubs in 1969 and in 1977.
§ Mr. Dunn227 and 453 clubs were registered in 1969 and 1977 respectively. I am satisfied with the arrangements for the examination of the accounts of registered clubs. I regret that details of the gross profit of clubs are not readily available.
§ Mr. Kilfedderasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many licensed clubs failed to submit certified returns of liquor expenditure for the year ending 31st December 1976; and whether prosecutions were initiated.
§ Mr. Dunn101 registered clubs did not make returns by the statutory date of 31st March 1977. All have now submitted their returns. In 10 cases they were not received before the publication of the Annual Return of Clubs in September 1977. In five cases prosecutions were initiated.
§ Mr. Kilfedderasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make available for public inspection copies of the liquor expenditure and certified accounts received each year from registered licensed clubs.
