HC Deb 26 October 1977 vol 936 c887W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Employment whether he will give, for the latest convenient stated date, the number of wage applications known or advised to his Department made since 1st August 1977 which are in breach of the Government's declared wages policy; and what is the number of workers affected in each group.

Mr. Harold Walker:

The great majority of employees who have settled since 1st August 1977 have observed the Government's pay policy. Some settlements affecting comparatively small numbers in breach of the policy have come to notice but of these some have been re-negotiated to bring them in line with the policy while others are still under discussion with the parties concerned.
