HC Deb 26 October 1977 vol 936 c784W
Mr. Greville Janner

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many children have been drowned in British waters while playing in or on plastic or rubber dinghies during each of the last five years for which records are available.

Dr. Summerskill:

In 1975, two children, and in 1976, one, were drowned in accidents involving inflatable dinghies or airbeds in Great Britain. I regret that no comparable information is available for earlier years.
