§ Mr. Trotterasked the Secretary of State for Transport whether he will submit to the EEC a proposal for Community Funds to be made available to construct an additional Tyne Tunnel so as to prevent the present delays occurring at the existing tunnel during peak periods.
§ Mr. William RodgersThe Tyne Tunnel is the responsibility of Tyne and Wear County Council and I am not aware of any proposal to construct a second tunnel.
