§ Mr. Sillarsasked the Secretary of State for Energy if he is able to estimate the number of marginal and faulted fields which still lie to be developed in the Scottish sector of the North Sea.
§ Dr. J. Dickson MabonNearly all fields are faulted. The question of whether a field is marginal depends on its economics which can vary with time. At present it is estimated that 26 fields fall into this category. Not all have yet been fully appraised and in time some may prove to be economically attractive to develop.
