Mr. Ford

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will list the representations he has received since his announcement that the line of the Kirkhamgate to Dishforth M1 extension was to pass to the east of Leeds, and the sentiments expressed.

In favour of the route east of Leeds: Wakefield Metropolitan District Council; Colingham with Linton Parish Council; Bishop Monkton Civic Society; Leeds—Bradford Green Belt Council; Spen Valley Civic Society; Yorkshire and Humberside Council for Sport and Recretation; and two members of the public.

Expressing disappointment at the choice of the route east of Leeds: Durham County Council; Bradford Metropolitan District Council; City of Sheffield Metropolitan District Council; Kirklees Metropolitan District Council; Harrogate Borough Council; Yorkshire and Humberside Economic Planning Council; Boroughbridge and District Chamber of Trade; Bradford Chamber of Commerce; Bradford District Chamber of Trade; Country Landowners' Association (Yorkshire Branch); Kirklees and Wakefield Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Leeds Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Yorkshire and Humberside Development Association; Yorkshire and Humberside Road Users' Group; Wetherby Brown Route Action Group; and two members of the public.
