§ Mr. Trotterasked the Secretary of State for Defence whether the Armed Forces Pay Review Body is free to publish in its reports any conclusion which it has reached as to (a) the shortfall of the level of Service pay compared with other occupations and (b) the resulting hardship suffered by those serving in the Forces; and whether it is free to suggest what would be appropriate rates of pay for the Services even if they cannot be implemented under the Government's pay policy.
