§ Mr. Macfarlaneasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will indicate the number of attendance centres currently in existence, the number planned for future development and the number that existed in 1973.
§ Mr. JohnThere has been no increase in the number of attendance centres since 1973, when there were 62. Additional 931W resources are now available which should make it possible for new centres to be opened wherever it is likely that full use would be made of them and suitable premises and staff can be found. Consultations have already taken place on the establishment of several new centres, the first of which will open in Warrington next month.
