Mr. David Mitchell

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what is the number of applications for the Business Names Register processed per day per head of staff during 1976–77; and what was the comparable figure for 1966–67.

Exact figures are not available, but we estimate there were 35 new registration processed per head per day in 1976–77 compared with 27 in 1966–67.
