HC Deb 23 November 1977 vol 939 c744W
Mr. Sproat

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many women trained in shorthand and typing under the training opportunities scheme in 1976 got a job within one month of ending the course and kept that job for at least six months.

Mr. Golding

I regret that information is not available in the form requested. The nearest data from a sample survey of one in six trainees completing courses under the Training Opportunities Scheme show that 69 per cent. of the women who completed clerical/commercial courses in Great Britain in the first quarter of 1977 were in employment three months later.
