§ Mr. Woofasked the Secretary of State for Employment what are the most recent available figures relating to unemployment in the Northern Region; and what were the categories and numbers of workers unemployed.
§ Mr. Golding, pursuant to his reply, [Official Report, 22nd November 1977], gave the following information: At 10th November 119,023 people were registered as unemployed in the Northern Region. This figure is provisional.
The following table gives an industrial analysis of the number unemployed at 11st August, the latest date for which this information is available. The analysis is based on the industry in which the unemployed last worked.
