HC Deb 16 November 1977 vol 939 c281W
Mr. Ralph Howell

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what is the unemployment rate in (a) Norfolk and (b) the North Norfolk District Council area; and what is the average wage in Norfolk.

Mr. Golding

At 13th October the unemployment rates were 6.2 per cent. for Norfolk and 8.4 per cent. for the area covered by the Cromer, Fakenham and North Walsham employment offices, which corresponds with the North Norfolk District Council area. No estimate of the average wage in Norfolk is available, but some estimates of average weekly earnings will be available from the 1977 New Earnings Survey when the regional analyses are published next February.
