asked the Secretary of State for Energy what is the demand to date in 1977 for domestic and non-domestic coal; and how this compares with each of the three previous years.>

The consumption of coal in the period January-September was as follows:

These figures are prepared on the same basis as those published monthly in Table 4 of Energy Trands, a copy of is available in the Library of the House—i.e., actual consumption by conversion industries—power stations, coke ovens, etc.—and disposals to other users including the domestic market.
