Mr. Carter-Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is his estimate of the number of children in the United Kingdom aged 1 to 4 years who have not received a measles vaccine or a complete series of oral polio vaccine.

Mr. Moyle:

The number of children in the United Kingdom aged 1 to 4 years, who have not received measles vaccine estimated on the data available at 31st December 1976 is 1,750,000.

The number of children in this age group in Great Britain who have not received a complete series of oral polio vaccine is estimated to be 864,000.

Similar information in respect of children in Northern Ireland is not available.
