§ Mr. Corbettasked the Secretary of State for the Environment for what reason the lift service to the Members' Lobby was suspended on 8th November; on how many days previously the lifts had been out of action; and when it is anticipated they will be functioning again.
§ Mr. Marks:The lift service in the Palace of Westminster is being affected by industrial action which commenced on 31st October. Repairs to lifts are not being carried out, and, in the event of breakdown, lifts are being closed down. Discussions on the dispute are continuing.
