§ Mr Robert Sheldon:The total revenue from levies charged on cereals imported in 1976 was £12.5 million and in the first half of 1977 was £34.5 million
During 1976 the amount of monetary compensatory amounts refunds paid to importers of cereals was £35.7 million and in the first half of 1977 was £1.2 million. These figures relate to the period up to 17th May 1976 on both intra-Community trade in respect of all member States and on third country trade, but since then United Kingdom monetary compensatory amounts on imports from other member States, except Italy, have been paid in the exporting member State, and information about them is not available at present.
