asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will set out the present stage of legislation for direct elections to a European Assembly in each country of the Common Market.

Our latest information is set out below:

Affairs if he will make representations in the Community that the proposed conference on water supplies as outlined by the Commission be held in the South-West of England in view of the wide range of problems which came from the drought of 1976 in this area.
