HC Deb 09 November 1977 vol 938 c147W
41. Mr. George Gardiner

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he considers that the interests of small firms in Great Britain are adequately represented on the Economic and Social Committee of the EEC.

Mr. Tomlinson:

The number of those wanting representation on the British delegation to the Economic and Social Committee far exceeds the number of seats available. I am satisfied that every effort is made to obtain a spread of interests in accordance with the requirements of the EEC Treaty.
