HC Deb 16 May 1977 vol 932 cc60-1W
Mr. Arthur

Lewis asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he is aware there are many persons who have entered the country with four wives and as many as 12 children; to what extent such persons can claim housing priority over native born persons with one wife and fewer than 12 children; and what advice he has tendered or intends offering to housing authorities when dealing with such cases.

Mr. Armstrong

The allocation of local authority housing is a matter for each authority. We have received no representations from local housing authorities on this subject and we have no plans to issue guidance.
