HC Deb 16 May 1977 vol 932 c61W
Mr. Stokes

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment why, in his answer to the hon. Member for Caernarvon (Mr. Wigley) Official Report, 4th May, columns 199–200, he omitted the flag of England, St. George's Cross; and on which days it is flown from Government buildings.

Mr. Marks

The Union Jack, not the St. George's Cross, is flown from Government buildings. The St. George's Cross does, however, sometimes form part of decorative schemes for ceremonial occasions such as State visits.
