asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many patients in the Trent Regional Hospital Authority area have currently been waiting for more that 12 months for general surgery; and how this compares with other regional health authority areas.

Data are collected separately for urgent and non-urgent cases. The following table shows the number and percentage of urgent cases waiting for more than one month and the number and percentage of non-urgent cases waiting for more than one year for admission to the general surgery speciality on 30th September 1976.

in the Greater London Council area for the years 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975 and 1976;

(3) what was the infant mortality rate in England and Wales for the years 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975 and 1976.
