HC Deb 09 May 1977 vol 931 c318W
Mr. Andrew F. Bennett

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what representations he has received on the report "Feasibility of an Experiment in the Tape-Recording of Police Interrogation", Command Paper No. 6630, since he received the report in October; if he is now in a position to take action on the report; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

I refer my hon. Friend to the reply given to his Question on 31st March.—[Vol. 929, c. 199.] My Department is awaiting the remaining comments on the report from those whose views have been particularly invited; a reminder has been issued. Meanwhile, we are considering the helpful, though divergent, comments already received.
