Notes:

1. All the figures for the Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham Area, Greenwich and Bexley Area and Bromley Area include a share of the cost of the London Ambulance Service.

2. The figures of expenditure per head are not adjusted for differences in the morbidity and age/sex structure of area populations. The figures are influenced by the payment of London Weighting Allowance to staff and by the incidence of additional expenditure in the provision of facilities for the clinical teaching of medical and dental students.

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he is satisfied that the financial allocations for 1977–78 by the South-East Thames Regional Health Authority to its area health authorities satisfy the principles laid down by the Resource Allocation Working Party; and if he will make a statement.

the hon. Member for Liverpool, Scotland Exchange.

It would be inappropriate to comment until such time as the health authorities have completed their local consultations and discussions. I am writing to my hon. Friend.
