Mr. Parry

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he can now give a date for the opening of the new Liverpool Teaching Hospital.

Mr. Moyle

The hospital is now expected to open towards the end of 1978.

Mr. Parry

asked the Secretary of State fo Social Services (1) what obstetric facilities will be provided at the new Liverpool Teaching Hospital;

(2) if he is satisfied with the provision of prenatal and antenatal facilities which will be provided at the new Liverpool Teaching Hospital.

Mr. Moyle

No such facilities will be provided at the new hospital. The region's strategic plan envisages that obstetric, antenatal and post-natal facilities for Liverpool will be provided at Broadgreen, Liverpool Maternity and Sefton General Hospitals.
