Mr. Patrick Jenkin

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what discussions he had during his recent visit to Saudi Arabia about arrangements for the treatment of Saudi Arabian patients in National Health Service hospitals.

At the request of the Saudi Arabian Minister of Health I described the nature of the arrangements which the Government envisage for the treatment of private patients within and outside the NHS, consequent on the passing of the Health Services Act 1976.
