HC Deb 02 May 1977 vol 931 c53W
Mr. Gwilym Roberts

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what was the cost of each of the individually tailored coats provided for officers in the Queen Alexandra Royal Army Nursing Corps: what other officers in the force were provided with such coats; and what was the individual cost of the coats provided for other ranks.

Mr. Robert C. Brown

The cost of the individually tailored barathea raincoats at present provided for officers in the Queen Alexandra Royal Army Nursing Corps is £75 each, which officers buy out of allowances. This pattern of raincoat is not worn by officers of any other Corps. The cost of the gabardine raincoats issued to Service women in the Queen Alexandra each for standard sizes and £16 each for Royal Army Nursing Corps is £13.65 those outside the standard range of sizes.
