asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether recruits to the Royal Ulster Constabulary are trained in the use of the various weapons issued to the Royal Ulster Constabulary during their period in the Royal Ulster Constabulary training centre; and how long a period such training lasts.

Recruits to the RUC are given a one-week weapons training course as part of their initial training.
