§ Mr. Kilroy-Silkasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if the recommended standards for procedures for the administration of electro-convulsive therapy of the Royal College of Psychiatrists are adhered to in prisons.
§ Mr. JohnI understand that the Royal College of Psychiatrists has not yet published recommended standards for the administration of ECT. When it does so its recommendations will be carefully considered to see if any further guidance is necessary about the administration of ECT in prisons.
