HC Deb 10 March 1977 vol 927 c615W
Mr. Lipton

asked the Lord President of the Council when the Services Committee authorised the erection in the pool in New Palace Yard of a fountain to mark the Silver Jubilee; what the cost will be; and when the proposal was sanctioned by the House.

Mr. Foot

The Services Committee resolved on 25th January 1977 that the Department of the Environment be authorised to erect this fountain. The scultpure for the fountain is being paid for by the private subscriptions of individual Members and will not involve any public expenditure, but DOE estimates that the cost of erecting it will be about £1,500. The proposal has not been formally submitted to the House.
