asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will list the land currently held by his Department in the Dover and Deal constituency; for what purpose or purposes the individual areas are held and used; and whether such areas are let and, if so, to whom.

In addition to married quarters and hirings, the property currently held in the Dover and Deal constituency and the purposes for which it is used is as followsDeal Royal Marine Depot & Free Down: Barracks and training. Blenheim Road: Hospital. Coldblow Farm: Playing fields. The Parade: swimming bath; swimming training and recreation. Middle Deal Road: TAVR Centre. Kingsdown Oldstairs Bay: Rifle range. Dover Part of Dover Castle: Garrison Commander's residence. Eastern Docks, Dover Harbour: Fleet support and movements. Broadlees: Training area. Connaught Barracks: Barracks. Old Park Barracks: Barracks and training area. Lydden Spout: Range. Lydden: Training area. Swingate: Communications. Marine Parade: TAVR Centre and Army Careers and Information Office. Duke of York's Royal Military School: Education. Sandwich The Quay: TAVR Centre.

Fort Burgoyne and Archcliffe Fort are not now in use by the Regular Forces.

A total of 1,200 acres is let for agricultural purposes to 10 tenants at Broad-lees, Connaught Barracks, Old Park, Lydden and Lydden Spout. Boat pens and other facilities are let to the Dover Harbour Board, Trinity House. RNLI and two firms. There are 19 residential lettings to individuals. In addition, minor sites are let as follows: to the South Eastern Electricity Board for substations, to youth organisations for clubhouse purposes, and to the BBC.
