§ Mr. Rostasked the Secretary of State for Energy what proposed price increases for coal, gas, and electricity he anticipates will be necessary over the next 12 months if the State industries adjust their accounting procedures to inflation accounting and maintain present profitability.
§ Mr. BennExposure Draft 18, setting out the proposed current cost accounting (CCA) system, envisages that the larger nationalised industries would adopt CCA for accounting periods beginning on or after 1st July 1978—ie, from April 1979 in the case of the nationalised coal, gas and electricity industries. ED18 is a consultative document, and neither the general system of current cost accounting nor any necessary modification for the nationalised industries has yet been agreed.
