HC Deb 24 June 1977 vol 933 c621W
Mr. Nicholas Winterton

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what questions are asked by the social security offices when a person who has not paid national insurance contributions makes a claim for social security benefits.

Mr. Orme

The questions will depend on the benefit claimed. They will usually be concerned with establishing a claimant's financial circumstances where a means-tested benefit is involved.
